In order to manure the potatoes better bag manure is shaken on. The drills are closed when the potatoes seed are spread under the dung. The potatoes are snagged before they are cut so that one stalk would grow.
Too much hot weather is not the best for the growth of the young potatoes. They should be sown in April in rain and heat together so that they would get a good start to grow. When the stalks are green they are sprayed over with a "beesom" or sometimes with a sprayer to save them from blight.
