   usually in a wood. She makes it of mud and sticks and lays four or five eggs.
   The pigeon builds her nest in an oiy[?] tree and lays only two eggs. The wren, the smallest of birds builds a large nest of moss in a mossy bank or on the side of an ivy house. She lets a tiny hole at its entrance and she lays from six to twelve eggs. There is a story which tells us how the wren became the king of all birds, which is as follows:- All the birds met together and were discussing which of them should be the king of the birds when the eagle thought of a plan. "home" she said and which one of us shall fly the highest shall be king. They all agreed and began to fly. After a short while the wren got tired but it thought of a plan to continue the journey. It pitched on the eagle's back and remained there until the journey was ended. Then the eagle said she was the highest, but the wren soaring from off the eagles back, was the highest and is known as the king of the birds ever since. The swallow builds her nest under the roof of a house and lays four eggs. She makes it of mud and lines it with feathers. The wagtail builds her nest
