    and his sister Katherine, In the room there slept Katherine the sister and upstairs there slept a crippled man called Timothy Hegarty. On this night the lightning struck the chimney of their house and knocked it. The lightning burst in the gable, tore down the floor, swept the dresser, cups saucers, jugs, tables, chairs and the stairs, out the door. It broke the loft in pieces; but the part where the people were sleeping was untouched.
    The next day all the neighbours came to see the disaster. They all marvelled at how all the lives were saved.
