- The people leave their horses out in fields by day and night in the summer to feed on the grass except then they are in use.
In the winter they keep them in the stable because the grass would be scarce and they would not live with the cold.
They feed them in the winter with furze and oats and mangels through the furze sometimes.
In the middle of the day they get some oats especially if they are working hard.
