The landlord that was over Clouncuggar was Miss MacCarthy. - In ancient times roads were not as plentiful as they are now. The remains of some of the old roads are still to be seen but they are nothing to compare with the roads of to-day. Some of these have names such as the "Board of Works" which leads to Barna, Caheragh, Drimoleague.
