  1. Local Roads
There are many small roads about here, intersecting each other at different points and joining others with the main road.
A main road runs from Dunmanway to Shanacrane cross, from which branches run to Bantry and Cork.
Another road near our school is called "Barna Tora" because it is supposed tome the road of the boundary. Farther down it is called the "Robbers Pass" because long ago it is said, a robber lived there. He was a terror to the countryside and all lived in continual fear of being robbed by him. However he would not harm any woman and his fate was sealed when a man named Clarke impersonated a woman and killed him. This hero was later called Goodhand Clarke.
