  1. This prayer was told to me by my mother and it was told to her by my grandmother. It is said on going to bed every night.

    O Lord bless the bed that I am about to lie on, and the sleep that I am going to take. O Mary my mother be thou at my head, Blessed John the apostle be thou at my feet. Dear angel of God at my side. May Christs messengers with the holy oils be in time at the hour of my death to put the seal upon my soul in the name of Christ crucified.
