- Bonfire night comes on 23rd. June. The bonfires are lit on the tops of hills, in brakes & in potato gardens. The reason why they are lit in potato gardens is to keep away the blight.
Bonfire night is kept in memory of St. John. People go to his tomb to pray on bonfire night.- Collector
