   Weather Lore The following are some local beliefs with regard to the weather. Signs of rain. When the sun is very red in the evening it is a sign of good weather. When there is a circle around the moon it is a sign of rain. When the stars do not shine with their usual brightness it is a sign of rain. A rainbow in the morning is the sailor's warning and a rainbow in the night is the sailors delight. The win is another indication of the weather.
