    the tree. This tree was known as the "wart tree". It was said that any person suffering from warts should pay a visit to this well every morning for a week. They should come fasting and say a certain prayer and then wash their hands in the well. It was said that by doing this the warts would vanish.
    Herbs and poultices were sometimes used to cure diseases. If a person had sores in the skin the remedy was to boil a bundle of nettles and sufferer should drink the juice. The cure for a bad stomach was to boil some dandelions and drink the juice. The cure for a bad stomach was to boil some dandelions and drink the juice. If a person was suffering from a sore head the remedy was to place a cabbage leaf on top of the head. Wild sage when boiled was a cure for a hurt. Bread-soda was a cure for a burn. A poultice of bran was a cure for bronchitis, it was also a cure for a sore. A poultice of bread and water was used to ripen a sore. A slice of a raw onion was a cure for a burn. The seventh son of a family was supposed to be a doctor.
