    with a large box put in the drunken crows got a cart & took them into the pound in Bandon. Came out & told Mr Baldwin where his crows were. Mr Baldwin released his crows & paid old Horgan well for the wheat & told the story everywhere of how the old smith outwitted him. This is a true story.

  2. Wakes are held on the dead, but few of the old customs are kept up. They are not carried out like any of the old ways in other parts.
