- A StormLong ago two fishing boats left beál a cuan which is between the Galley-Head and the red strand and they were not far to sea when a storm arose and they had no chance of coming back so some one knew that they could not be saved and they went to Father O Brien the curate in this parish and told him about it and he said you can go home now and he went after him and he came as far as the top of the cliff and he had with him a sheaf of straw and a blessed candle and he lit the straw with the candle and he sprinkled holy water where he thought the direction the boat was and he then went home and the boat came back safely through a calm passage in the sea.
