    baking soda and baked in a bastable. Meat was only eaten on very rare occasions. Salt meat was generally eaten. Fresh fish was eaten on a large scale by people living around the coast and stock fish by people living inland. People did not eat late at night. Tea was first used in this district about seventy years ago. Basins were used as the first vessels for drinking tea
