    Marriage usually takes place during Shrove in this locality. Shrove starts on the 6th of January.
    People get married on Tuesdays Thursdays or Saturdays. It is thought unlucky to get married on Monday’s Wednesdays or Fridays.
    When people are going to get married the girl’s people visit the man’s house to see if the farm is worth the money demanded as fortune. The day is appointed for the marriage and it is customary that the man be at the church first. When the marriage ceremony is performed the friends congradulate the persons
