In the year 1837 we had a terrible storm in Ireland. Great damage was done and a lot of lives were lost. It swept before it tree's, roofs of houses and fences. In the year 1897 there was a great flood all over Ireland. It caused a lot of damage in the country. It flooded fields in all parts of Ireland. Farmers went out looking for their sheep and they were seen again. People who were used to crossing rivers with horses and carts in shallow places into the river were drowned. There was snowfall in the year 1898. It had a depth about 14 feet.- Collector
