    farmers helped each other to put in the hay, it was the custom to give "goody" to all the helpers. A large quantity of milk was boiled and many loaves were broken into it, and everyone was forced to eat many times during the day.
    Another old custom was the eating of large quantities of eggs on Easter Sunday. There were often wagers as to who would eat the most and people ate them until they were sick and did not want to see an egg again for another year.
