    was a holy woman,allowed her all the land her cloak had covered, and there she built her convent. For this reason people put out a cloth on St Bridget's night for it is supposed to cure any throat disease.
    People never lie on grass on May-day or pick flowers.
    Palm is worn by the people on Palm Sunday. It is kept in the house for a year and then burnt when fresh palm is got. On May-Eve people shake holy water on the crops and cattle to bring luck on them during the year.
    Some people always keep Lourdes water in their homes and it is drunk when a person is sick.
    About two miles from this district there is a fort and inside there is a small hole of water which is supposed to cure warts.
    There is a holy well at Tullylease callked "St Ben's Well", and when people go there paying rounds they bring with
