    put in a "pit". Then they pick the small potatoes and put them in another pit. When they are making a pit they clean the ground first, and put the potatoes on the ground, and cover them with rushes, and make a channel all around the potatoes, and shovel the earth on the rushes.
    There are different kinds of potatoes. Their names are "champions," "Arran banners", "Kerrs pink", "Irish Queens", "Arran Victory," "Arran Consul," "King Edward the seventh", "Striped champion," " and up-to-date," and "Great scot," and "Abundance".
