- In olden times the Newmarket people heard an immense carriage without any horses at the dead of night which is between twelve and two oclock going around the town several times at night. After going around the town several times it went out the Charlivile Line. They called it the headless coach. It could not be seen only heard, and no one went out at that time when it was going around It made a deadly muffled sound.
