  1. There are many kinds of wild birds in the country, the crow, the magpie, the thrush, the robin, the lark, the blackbird, and the sparrow.
    The crow builds her nest on a tall tree-top, with mud, twigs, and moss. She lays big blue eggs with black spots on them. She sits on her for about a fortnight, and when the young ones come out, and strong, they try to put the old crows out of their nest.
    The magpie builds her nest on a tree, and lays white eggs with brown specks.
    The robin red-breast builds her nest in fence, under a tree
