  1. The only poets in this district were the weavers so called because of their trade. They lived near the Village of Brosna. Every member of the family was able to Compose or had what the people of the district called very handy talk.
    The following is a small speciment of their composition.
    James Bannon the sooper once lived in the Union
    With his platter and spoon every morning
    He would eat as much gruel as cronins old mule
    and was always called brute by the guardians.
    But non he is resigned and the parson he joined.
    Oh he was a droll looking pauper
    And the curse (of) on his road
    And to hell with the rogues
    Says the snug little girl from Bansha
