  1. The Patron of this district is St. John. He was a brother of St Lothern who lived at Cullen. He blessed two wells in Mushera mountain one at at the foot and the other at the summit of the mountain. It is said that the one at the foot of the mountain would cure worts. There is a Cross in Inchemay mountain and it is said that St. John slept there in the form of a cross when he was going to Mushera mountain.
