    Three meals were eaten every day, Namely, dinner, breakfast, and supper. People worked before eating. The meals consisted of Potatoes, Stirabout, potatoes. Milk was drunk. Sour Milk and Butter Milk were generally used by the people. The table was placed in the middle of the floor for the meals. Bread was eaten. It was made of Oatmeal. Meat was not eaten very often. Salt meat was used mostly. Bacon was generally eaten. Some fish was used. Salt herring sprats were the kind of fish used in olden times. People did not eat late at night. They had certain food on certain occassions. People had meat Shrove Tuesday night and they had no meat until Easter Sunday. I did not hear when was tea first used in the district. Tin Saucepans and piggins were used before cups became common.
