People get married on Shrove Tuesday. I did not hear say that any month was unlucky to get married.
I heard the following story from my father:-About twenty years ago some people used to send word to the maids and bachelors to get married and if they did not they used take them to the river in a car and throw them out of it at the river and dip them in the water and shake salt on them. People make matches at my district.
