In this district people gather together and go hunting the wren from house to house with decorated bushes, singing the wren song. These are the words sung:-
"The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
St. Stephen's Day he was caught in the furze,
From bush to bush, from tree to tree,
Above in the wood, we broke his knee.
So up with with the kettle, and down with the pan
And give us our answer and let us be gone.
If your offering is great your soul may rest in heaven
But if it is small it won't aggree with us wren boys at all.
Money is collected and it is divided or spent in taking the crowd to some enjoyable place. On St. Br
