Cornelus O'Brien is the smith. He started his forge about ten years ago. It is in Barrack Street Banteer and in a good centre for bussiness. The roof is slated because was built for a shop. It has a pannell door. There is one fire within.
The following implements are used by the smith, namely, Sledge, Hammer, anvil, wrench, punch, saw, hacksaw and trough. He shoes and mends ploughs and other farms implements. The shoeing of horses is done in the open air in the Summer.
