    mixed with a little milk and a small quantity of flour to bind them. The cake was then baked in a bastable.
    My mother saw oaten meal bread made, and made it herself often.
    Some oaten-meal was mixed with a little luke-warm water and made into the shape of a rectangle about an inch in thickness.
    The cake was baked in front of a nice turf fire resting on a clean slate with another slate supporting it at the back. The cake was eaten hot with butter.
    I could get no information about Boxty bread, Stampy or griddle bread.
