- A Funny Story.
About twelve years ago there lived near Charleville a man named Bill Linnane. He was very careless about his work and he often lost his job on account of his carelessness. Once he worked on the farm of a very tidy man who did not like him because he was so careless.
One day Bill was sent saving hay and he could not find his pike. The Farmer came out and when he saw Bill looking for the pike he was angry and he said "Bill why don't you put things where you will get them like a clerk in an office. He keeps his pencil over one ear, his pen over the other and his note books in his top pocket.
"Well" "said Bill" "Would'n't I look nice with the pike over one of my ears, the rake over the other and the ass and car hanging out of my top pocket."- Collector
