- About 40 years ago a great snowfall occurred. The snow was about six feet deep & it remained for about four days. It is believed that people who attended a funeral travelled in a 'straight line' over fences & fields (?)

- There was a terrible snowstorm in 1888. The snow was 15 feet (?) high the snow nearly covered the houses & several lives were lost. It continued to fall for a day & a night. It remained on the ground for nearly a fortnight.
- Great drought periods: About 40 years ago there was a great drought period here & the Deel was nearly dry. The Creamery workers had to draw water from a well which belonged to Mr. William Broderick, Milford.
- There was a great scarcity of water about twenty eight years ago & it lasted for four days. Cows died.
- Old Milford residents expected very severe weather ("St. Ben's Rout") about the Well Day (Tullylease). St Benjamin is Patron St. of Tullylease & Feb. 18th. is the Well Day.
