Saint Brigid's Well is so called because Saint Brigid is said to have visited the place where the well is situated. People visit it on Saint Brigid's Day. We are told that a woman tried to wash clothes with the water out of this well but the clothes would not wash and remained as dirty as they were before washing. People do not visit Saint Patrick's Well.- Collector
