    Long ago the people used to wear a cross on their shoulder on Saint Patrick's Day in honour of Saint Patrick.
    The people used to make them themselves. This is how they used to make them. They would join two pieces of cardboard together in the form of a cross. Then they would cover it with silk and ribbons of all colours. Sometimes they used to wear them until "Lady Day" that is the twenty-fifth of March. These crosses however are not worn now but a piece of shamrock or a harp is worn instead.
