    When King Edward came over to Ireland,
    In delicate health as you know,
    I met him one day in my travels,
    And he asked me which way, he would go.
    Sez he, "Tis fresh air I am seeking,
    As my system is badly run down"
    O King Edward, Sez I "The best air you can try,
    Is up in Kildorrery Town."
    Chorus:
    Sez he, "I was wance in Kildorrey.
    Indeed you might think that is quare,
    Sure 'tis only five miles from Ardpatrick, etc

    When the pilgrims went over from Ireland.
    To visit the people of Rome,
    'Twas little they thought the surprises,
    That city had for them in store.
    They went to the Pope at his palace,
    And when he had seated them down,
    In a voice loud and clear,
    Sez he, "Is anywan here,
    From Famous Kildorrery Town".
