- We grow about half an acre of potatoes every year in ground owned by a farmer. The farmer's servant ploughs the ground. The ground is turned up beforehand, and the potatoes are set in drills. The drills are made with a drill plough.
Ploughs and spades are purchased in a shop. The potatoes must be cut before being put in the soil.
Some people help one another at the potatoes.
