- A few years ago there lived in the parish of Mitchelstown a farmer who couldn't make any butter. One morning when he went out to the field for his cows he saw a hare with the cows. The man had a hound with him and the hound followed the hare until they came to a house. Then the hare sprang for the window, and just as he sprang the hound caught him by the back. Then the man went into the house, and he saw a woman inside in bed and her back bleeding. From that day on the farmer could make butter.
