  1. Near where I live there is a large house named "The Hermitage". It is surrounded by woods and deep in one of them is a cave known as the "Hermits Cave". I suppose it is from this cave that the place gets its name. The cave is near the bank of the river. It is round in shape and about fourteen feet high where it faces the river and leaves with the wood at its back. there is a stone near the opening on which is carved a cross and underneath, the letters I.H.S. I suppose a holy man lived there a long time ago.
