  1. Old schools
    There was an old school in Fota for Lord Barrymore's tenants it has been turned into a toolshed by the gatekeeper as it is very near his house.
    There was another old school at Walterstown opposite to where the new school is. It was taught by Dennis O' Mahony and his daughter the writing was done by slate pencils on slates. The parents of each child had to pay the teachers.
