  1. When the Blessed Virgin and St Joseph were flying from their home in Nazareth from King Herod their feet were bleeding and they knew not where to go. The robin cleaned the blood with its breast and that is why the robin has a red breast. It is said that Our Lord blessed the robin and anyone that did anything to the robin would have bad luck.
Another story connected with the Holy Family is when King Herod's soldiers were looking for him, they asked people if they saw Jesus, but they said they said [sic] they didn't. The wren also heard them and he was in the ditch and said 'indé, indé!'
Everybody dislikes the wren because he betrayed Our Lord.
