  1. My father John Flynn, 64 years of age of Glenmore told this information.
    A man by the name of John Looney used to go around the place selling carpets and boots. He often stayed in the houses.
    Also a man by the name of James O'Rourke went around selling clothes. They both went around about 40 years ago.

  2. My father James Wilson of Walterstown suppled the following information;
    About forthy years ago a pedlar by the name of Egan used to frequent this locality to sell his wares. He used generally turn up at Easter, and was welcomed by the younger members of the family, as he included in his wares, egg=cups, spoons, etc. so appropriate at the season.
    At a later date an old woman known as ' Maire Cairlin' appeared
    Fitzgerald being her real name. She
