- Local HappeningsThere is a lake in Blarney known as the Blarney Lake. This lake is said to be enchanted because in clear days when the water is clear buildings can be seen beneath the water. One Sunday in the Summer nine or ten people went boating in the Blarney Lake. The boat capsized and the people were all drowned.
Two people were drowned in the Fiddler's Brooke below St. Loughteen's well about thirty years ago. Long ago a man was ploughing in the farm where Mr. Dwyer now lives. When he was coming home to eat his dinner he gave the horses a drink in the river Martin.
