- Local Happenings In Blarney Castle there is a lake known as the Blarney Lake and it is said to be enchanted because on calm days buildings can be seen underneath the water. Some years ago nine or ten people were boating on Blarney Lake. When they were some distance out on the water, the boat capsized and two people were drowned. In the Fiddler's Brook, two people were also drowned and they were both from the same townland.Mr. Michael Riordan's house, Ballygrogan, Grenagh, Blarney, Co.
