  1. "She that would live for aye
    Must eat sage in May."
Sage is an herb and it grows wild. I often heard my mother say that it is a great cure for many ailments. Sage contains salviol oil and it helps to preserve the flesh of animals. It has a very bitter taste but it aids digestion.
Sage tea is a powerful stimulant and a tonic. Young sage leaves washed well, chopped finely and eaten between bread and butter is a good digestive.
A man that knows all about herbs says, "We should be very careful when we take sage because it promotes perspiration, and if we take too much of it we are in danger of getting a bad cold." It also rids the body of poison.
It is a great cure for a sore throat.
