“There was a hedge school at Killeen 70 years ago.”
Ther was a hedge school at Killeen 70 years ago It was held in a farmer's outhouse. This building was later used as an old National school. The hedge school had sufficient seating accomadation. The subjects taught were English, Irish Arithmetic and Writing. The teacher whose name was clarke was a gifted musician and dancer and those qualifications helped to keep his school full.- Collector
