    In olden times the "straw-boys" visited the weddings. The men would dress themselves in straw. They would wear straw-dresses and straw-hats. When they would be dressed they would visit the wedding feast. They would recieve the best of entertainment. They would be numbered. They would ask the permission of the bridegroom. Number-one would dance. Number-two would sing. Number-three would play a violin and so on.
