- I play a lot of games. In Summer I play hurling and football. Sometimes I play handball and bowling.
In Autumn I go blackberry picking and nut-cracking. Sometimes I catch birds with bird-cribs.
The children play marbles and spinning tops and skipping and bowling hoops and hide and seek.
In Winter when the ice is on the ponds and rivers I go skating. When the snow is on the ground I make snow men and snowballs. Some of the children have battles with the snowballs. Children amuse themselves when sitting round the fire in the Winter. They read books and play games of Ludo or draughts and paint pictures in books. Others play games of cards and blind man's buff.- Collector
