    Long ago there lived a very old man and woman. They were very far away from town and were very poor. In those days the peasantry were very simple, and knew nothing about luxuries.
    It took the woman a long time to put the money together. At last the day came when she went to Youghal, and she bought a beautiful umbrella. The old woman used to be admiring it whilst at her meals.
