  1. The Hipped Old Horny cow
The man who wrote this poem is living in Mileen. He is alive still and he is about sixty years of age. His name is John Donovan. He wrote a great man other poems also. The best known one is The Hipped Old Horny Cow.
    I
My name it is Tom Batty.
I'm a jobber out of sight.
    I thought I'd make a fortune and I bought a cow
    last night.
I earned honest money by the sweat of my
    honest brow.
And I gave it to Dan Maurice for a hipped old
    horney cow.
    II
Very early the next morning I took her to
    the fair.
It was my whole intention to make money on her
    there.
The first jobber that I met her asked me could
    she plough
Or where had (you) I the chance to get
    That hipped old horny cow.

    (3)
When I was returning from the fair my eyes with
    tears did fill.
