- Holy Wells - There is a Holy Well over near Barrigone. Many people visit it, because it is said that there is a cure in it. If a person got a fresh cut, a cobweb is a very good thing to rub to it. If a baby's tongue got covered with white, it is called thrush, and it is said that if a gander or a goose breathed into the baby's mouth it would cure it. The stuff of the stem of a dandelion, like milk, is a great cure for warts.
