  1. Folklore Conundrums.
    In Amsterdam 'tis common,
    In Munster it is still,
    'Tis always in a mountain.
    And never in a hill.
    Always in timber,
    Never in a tree,
    Never in the people,
    Still 'tis in me.
    The letter "M".
A beautiful maid in a garden was laid.
Shd was as fair as the flowers in the morn.
'Twas the first time in life she became a wife.
And she died before she was born.
    Eve.
I went to the wood and I got it.
I looked for it and I couldn't find it.
The more I looked for it, the less I liked it.
Went home and I having it, because I couldn't find it.
    A thorn.

The above riddles were told to me by John Egan, Ballyegna, Kilcolman.
    Mary Greaney,
    Ballyegna.
