- Old people say that Saturday is an unlucky day to start work. They say that the work would never be finished. Women never wash on Saturday. People never kill a pig on Monday or Friday. If the pig was killed on Monday farmers say its flesh will not last long. Others say that you should never shed blood on a Friday. People never open the ground for a grave on a Monday. They redden it either on Sunday or else the previous Saturday. People like to get something on Hansel Monday, the first Monday in the year. If they get money on that day they say they will have enough for the year.
