“In Croinn-Tírigh (situated in J. Leahy's land in Clough) lived a chieftain named Sheara.”
In Croinn-Tírigh (situated in J. Leahy's land in Clough) lived a chieftain named Sheara. He was a very hard and cruel man and was much disliked by the locals. The ruins of the fortress are still to be seen. Here, it was supposed, an underground passage led to prison quarters. Many years after the death of Sheara, he appeared riding an ox across the townland, and disappeared at a rock known as "Cappaig na gloc."- Informant
